Quantum Physics | Einstein and Neils Bohr

The BohrEinstein debates is a popular name given to a series of public disputes between Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr about quantum physics. These two men, along with Max Planck were the founders of the original quantum theory. Their “debates” are remembered because of their importance to the philosophy of science. Einstein sought a physics that would tell him what was happening in the real world “behind” the equations. Bohr was interested in the equations themselves and did not worry about an underlying reality.

World Science Festival 2008: Beyond Einstein, Part 8 of 8

Albert Einstein spent his last thirty years unsuccessfully searching for a ‘unified theory’ – a single master principle to describe everything in the universe, from tiny subatomic particles to immense clusters of galaxies. In the decades since, generations of researchers have continued working toward Einstein’s dream. Renowned physicists Leonard Susskind, Jana Levin, Jim Gates, and prominent historian Peter Galison discussed what’s been achieved and tackled pivotal questions. Would a unified theory reveal why there is a universe at all? Would it tell us why mathematics is adept at unraveling nature’s mysteries? Might it imply we are one universe of many, and what would that mean for our sense of how we fit into the cosmos? Moderated by Nobel Laureate Paul Nurse. Rappin’ Einstein Modifies Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” for Relativistic Time Dilation

(Postmodern Jukebox Ep. 2) What if Albert Einstein had written Kesha-with-a-dollar-sign’s hit single, Tik Tok, about time dilation in Special Relativity? Postmodern Jukebox presents, “Tik Tok (on the Relativistic Clock)” This is our attempt to create the strangest cover of the aforementioned song…ever. For this video, Ive convinced my old college buddy, Rappin Einstein, to skip out on his breakfast of free coffee and donuts at Bobs Discount Furniture and come down to NYC. Hes joined by singer/songwriter Tanya Romero on vocals and Mike Lapke on drums. Check out Tanyas music here: www.myspace.com Bring Rappin Einstein to your school as a guest speaker!! Email: RappinEinstein@yahoo.com (Note: Rappin Einstein does not actually know science.) —————————————————– ABOUT POSTMODERN JUKEBOX I’ve presented my musician friends with a challenge: Take a song from the Billboard Hot 100, come up with an altogether unique arrangement of it, and perform it…in under 2 hours. Don’t think “cover version,” think “time-sensitive transformation.” —————————————- ——— www.facebook.com
